The Benazir Income Support Programme has announced a major increase in the quarterly payment under the Benazir Kafalat Program.
According to the official statement, the quarterly stipend for registered and deserving women has been increased from Rs13,500 to Rs14,500. The raise is expected to benefit millions of women across Pakistan who are already enrolled in the program.
It is worth noting that last year the government had also increased the Kafalat installment from Rs10,500 to Rs13,500 in response to rising inflation. The latest increase continues that effort to provide financial relief to low-income households.
Officials stated that the purpose of the increase is to ease the financial burden on deserving women and help them manage essential household expenses amid ongoing economic challenges.
The enhanced payment will be disbursed through the existing BISP payment system to ensure transparency and smooth transfer of funds.
